WCRE Call for Workshop Proposals
NOTE: This page is obviously obsolete, as it refers to the 2002 conference. However, it can be reworked for future conferences. |
WCRE Workshops
Continuing the successful extension of
WCRE with workshops
in the last two years,
WCRE 2002 offers you the
opportunity to organize a workshop devoted to a reverse engineering
or reengineering topic.
Workshops would be held on Monday October 28, Tuesday October 29, or
Friday November 1, immediately before or after the
WCRE main conference, in coordination with the
WCRE schedule.
WCRE workshops are characterized by a focused topic, lively discussion,
and enthusiastic participants. Typical group size
is between 10 and 20 participants.
Workshop Position Papers
WCRE Workshops are not based on full papers, but on short position
papers proposing risky new directions or making
provocative statements about particular areas in reverse engineering research.
Position papers will be printed in specific workshop proceedings,
printed by the Virginia Commonwealth University, which
will be distributed to all
WCRE participants.
Position papers will not be printed in the
WCRE conference proceedings as
published by
IEEE.
In order to ensure a timely delivery of the workshop proceedings,
workshop organizers are requested to adopt the
following submission dates for workshop papers:
- September 13: Submission of position papers
- September 27: Notification of acceptance
- October 11: Position papers final versions due.
- Oct 28,29 or Nov 1: Workshop in Richmond, VA
The Workshop Description
If you are interested in organizing a workshop, please write a
workshop description of at most two pages. This description
should include the workshop name, organizers, goals, topics addressed,
paper selection criteria and mechanism discussion
format, length of the workshop (full day or half day) expected outcomes,
expected follow ups, and other issues that could
be relevant to the workshop.
Workshop proposals will be judged by the
WCRE Chairs on originality,
relevance to the field of reverse engineering,
expected level of interest in the topic, and the organizers' ability
to lead a successful workshop.
The workshop description should be formatted according
to the
IEEE Conference Proceedings standard. Please submit your proposal to
wcre.2002@durham.ac.uk .
Workshop proposal dates
- June 21: workshop description submission
- July 22: proposal notification of acceptance
- August 9: workshop description final version due
